Are You Struggling With Dance Injuries In Northwest Suburbs Of Chicago?
"Are You Being Held Back By Your Dance Injury? Have You Tried Everything To Fix It And
Feel Let Down?”
Don’t sacrifice the lifestyle you desire over problems that can be fixed. That’s why we made this just for you.

A Message From Dr. Chrissy Davis, Owner & Founder of Precision Performance Sports Medicine
- Are you tired or scared of being told to “just stop dancing” when you bring your pain up to your physician or dance instructor?
- Are you frustrated with endless stretching and foam rolling and still feel tight, limiting your flexibility in splits, leg holds?
- Are you frustrated with being unable to apply your dance instructor’s corrections, no matter how hard you try?
- Do you feel tired, frustrated, and maybe even a little down about your inability to dance the way you want because of an injury or pain?
- Are you still looking for a long-term solution so you can get back to dancing without pain or limitation or fear of having to sit out?
- Just push through it because it’s part of dance and you don’t want to let your team or dance instructors down.
- Just “rest” or not do the skill that causes pain and it’ll be fine (then the second you dance again the pain comes right back).
- “Why don’t you just stop dancing” (you and me both know that isn’t happening!).
- If you take some anti-inflammatory meds everything will be fine.
- “Just deal with it” and it’ll reside if you just foam roll, stretch, or massage the painful area.
The Truth Is...
- Resting it doesn’t change anything. You might get a small temporary relief, but then when you get active again you’ll still be suffering from dance injuries (I bet you’ve already experienced it!).
- You don’t have to stop dancing!
- The inflammation your physician is telling you is the cause of the pain is just a by-product of a movement or activity issue, which requires a movement solution!
- Pain pills are addicting, dangerous, and can cause a lot of other problems with your body.
- The pain you’re experiencing needs to be addressed and resolved and “just deal with it” isn’t an option.
“At Precision Performance Sports Medicine we specialize in helping dancers dance pain-free and strong while optimizing their performance and longevity without having to sit out of rehearsals or competitions.”
- Your dance instructor tells you to try ice and heat
- A colleague mentions going to a massage therapist
- The “experts” on YouTube and Instagram recommend doing a certain exercise
- A teammate suggests doing a specific warm up, stretch over over-splits which causes pain
- All while the family physicians tells you to rest and take some pills
It’s overwhelming to try to make a decision with all these choices…what will happen if you don’t make the right one?
Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action.
When It Comes To Solving Something Serious Like Dance Injuries…
You must choose the right provider for your health. If you don’t, you could end up dancing in pain for no reason or worse, you could end up getting dangerous surgery (when it was unnecessary) or being dependent on addicting painkillers the rest of your life.
Getting the “least-invasive”, most natural treatment is VITAL to you stopping your pain and keeping it from ever coming back. Additionally, addressing the root cause will allow you to be a stronger and more resilient dancer!
To do that, you have to not just treat the pain, but have a provider who is willing to figure out WHY the pain happened in the first place. That’s when you’ll get a PERMANENT solution to your problems.
At Precision Performance Sports Medicine we’ve created a 3 step process to get rid of your pain AND make sure it doesn’t come back again.
Step #1 - We Want To Listen To Your Story
Our medical system is frustrating. You wait weeks, sometimes months, for an appointment, only to get to talk to the physician for 10 minutes before they have to run to the next patient and you’re left sitting there wondering, “What just happened?”
Even most physical therapy clinics operate this way. They’re not attentive, they’re fast-paced, and your therapist doesn’t have time to actually touch where you hurt.
This is why our first step is to listen to your story.
After working with lots of people with dance injuries, we know that no two people are alike. Each person has a different body, a different history, and different types of pain.
That is why our first step is to have an open conversation and time for you to tell your story. That way we get a deep understanding of what’s going on not just with your body, but also how it’s impacting your life, and more importantly, your dancing.
Step #2 - Find Out WHY The Pain Started
Many dancers have a diagnosis, or medical term for what’s going on with their body. Maybe their physician gave it to them, maybe tests showed the diagnosis, or maybe you found it online.
You could have been told that your only choices were to rest, take an anti-inflammatory to stop the inflammation, stop dancing for a prolonged time or forever, or change up your training.
Sometimes, those things bring temporary relief, but they’re not addressing what CAUSED the problem in the first place.
Every person’s cause of pain is different. No one has the exact same problem caused by the exact same thing as another person. Most pain is a by-product of a movement or activity issue, which requires a movement solution.
Our goal at Precision Performance Sports Medicine is to find that original cause of your pain, so not only does your pain go away, it STAYS AWAY! And once the pain is gone, we work with you to address those skills and techniques you struggle with to make you a stronger dancer overall!
We understand that you still might be skeptical or unsure if physical therapy is right for you. That’s why we created a taster session.
Our Discovery Sessions are meant specifically for those dancers who are skeptical, unsure, or have even been let down in the past. During the Discovery Session you’ll find out what’s wrong through a specific DANCE FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT, how long it’s going to take to fix it, and give you peace of mind that your problem can be fixed naturally!
Step #3 - Get Rid Of The Pain & Keep It From Coming Back
This is when the big transformation occurs. We develop a personalized plan that allows you to…
…get back to dancing without fear of the pain and stiffness coming back.
…be able to apply your instructors corrections easier.
…dance at your best and keep pushing yourself to do better.
…nail down those skills and techniques you’ve struggled with for years.
…get back to the pre-injury lifestyle you love.
The dancers we LOVE to work with are those who are motivated and ready to ELEVATE their dancing beyond their wildest dreams – without pushing through the pain! (Even if they feel stuck right now!)
Want to know more about our availability and costs before making any commitment to coming in?
You don’t have to sacrifice your dancing or limit your dance potential over problems that can be fixed.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chrissy Davis, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC
